a Feature Attraction at the
Tri-State Pet Expo

It has been said that the NJ Bird Man, Bill Middleton, has one of the most unique shows in New Jersey. Bill is the ringmaster of a traveling Exotic Bird Show complete with voice amplification, background music and tropical scenery. Not to mention of course Parrots...

Macaw parrots Molly and Polly will entertain and delight children and adults of all ages. They love to show how smart they are by riding bikes and scooters, playing basketball and a cup game, barrel walking, driving a car, balancing a spinner, roller skating, etc.

Catch this teams performances Friday evening at 5:00PM and 7:00M, Saturday and Sunday at 11:00AM, 1:00PM and 3:00PM. Photo opportunities with the Macaws will be available throughout the weekend.

All weekend long a variety of pet birds will be on site at this special area for all to enjoy. Visitors will see many beautiful kinds of pet birds and are encouraged to ask questions about them and birds in general. The sponsors of this area, the Staten Island Bird Club, will happily share their experiences and knowledge with anyone wishing to know and learn.

All bird entries are FREE! Yep, that's right, there will be no charge to enter birds in the shows. So, fill all your show cages, what do you have to lose... All birds must be pre-registered in advance of show date. Registration forms must be received by October 8 to participate. See contact person below for your prospective division.       Castle Enterprises will be obtaining an Exhibition Permit, from the New Jersey Division of Fish and Wildlife, for the ALBS Lovebird Shows and the SPBE Parrot Shows. Therefore, out of state exhibitors will not be required to obtain a permit for the birds they will be exhibiting during the event. Cockatiels are an exempt species and therefore no permit is required for the NCS Cockatiel Shows.

In order to obtain the permit, ALL ENTRIES MUST BE PREREGISTERED. Exhibitors are required to submit their Bird Entry Form to Castle Enterprises by October 8. NOTE: No birds will be accepted the morning of exhibitions that have not been pre-registered and included on Castle Enterprises Exhibition Permit. Also, birds on the Exhibition Permit are strictly forbidden to be sold (a separate permit is required to sell birds).

Cockatiels, Budgerigars and all aviculturally recognized color mutations are exempt from being banded or micro-chipped. all other Lovebird and Parrot entries MUST be banded or micro-chipped. Parrot Exhibitors please be advised... The following bird species are not allowed in the state of New Jersey: Patagonian Conures, Monk Parrots (Quaker Parrots), Ring-Necked Parrots, Mustached Parrots, Plum-headed Parrots (and all others in the Psittacula genus). THEREFORE: The above mentioned bird species will not be able to participate in the SPBE Parrot Exhibitions.

All Exhibitors bringing birds into the State of New Jersey must have an Avian Permit Form from the New Jersey Department of Agriculture. The permit is FREE. By filling out and signing the form you are simply saying that to the best of your knowledge the birds are healthy and have not been near an area with birds diagnosed with Exotic New Castle Disease. After filling out the form, you only need to call the Department of Agriculture (phone number included on attached form) to obtain a Permit Number and then keep the form with you during your travels in New Jersey.

Friday 4:00PM to 9:00PM in the Bird Exhibition area...

Area Bird Breeders and Exhibitors will be on hand for bird enthusiast to chat with. These informational discussions are from anything to everything having to do with the hobby. Learn from the seasoned and experienced bird lovers... They will assist and inform bird owners to the world, methods and hints of participating in a bird exhibition. Introduce one to the experience of owning and breeding birds, to guidance on the "how too and don't" of bird keeping.
