Dear Vendor,

Castle Enterprises’ fall ThriftyBirdsMart is being held on Saturday September 29, 2001 at the Lititz Community Center, Lititz PA, in Lancaster County. This is the same location as our recent spring ThriftyBirdsMart. Lititz PA is just 6 miles North of Route 30 (Lancaster area) on Route 501.

We invite you to vendor at this years fall ThriftyBirdsMart. Your participation will make this second Lititz event even better than the first... Our Lancaster County events have become very popular and I know many of our regular patrons look forward to attending them. Although the show’s attendees are only as happy as the variety of birds and supplies offered to them for sale that day. Won’t you consider helping to make this event and the patron’s shopping spree, the best it can be. Your participation will help us provide the variety of products needed to please the expected crowd.

Once again, we will be utilizing the huge gymnasium of the Community Center for the ThriftyBirdsMart Shopping Spree (it is two full sized basketball courts which is about 15,000 sq. feet). Castle Enterprises patrons are accustom to attending a large event. We can easily accommodate 65 vendor and still provide our normal spacious and leisurely shopping atmosphere.

The facility has air conditioning and the gym is also equipped with exhaust fans... Food and refreshments will be for sale by the Community Center in the lobby, which is adjacent to the gym and also where you'll find the restrooms. The vendor entrances to the gym are an overhead garage type door and a side door not to mention the front lobby doors. Usual fellow vendor courtesy will apply during set up and tear down...

Vending Details

With each 10' x 10' exhibit area you receive one uncovered 8' table and two chairs. For an additional fee extra tables are available if reserved in advance, see Vendor Application (remember you must stay within your allotted space...). Birds in cages stacked on bare table tops and or floor cages / t-stands without trays are not permitted (obviously this allows bird droppings to accumulate directly on table tops and the floor). Protect the Community Center's property. Table and floor covering will not be provided. Bring your own table cover and something for the floor if necessary.

Being that there is not a Bird-for-Sale area, breeders can feel free to share an exhibit space but please, included all participants’ names, addresses and signatures on the application.

Payment for Vendor Space mailed on or after September 8th must be made with a money order or certified check.

Our events will be quality events where shoppers will want to return. We must as professional aviculturists set an example of the proper care and housing of pet birds for the novice. Therefore, birds must be exhibited in a clean suitably sized environment with food and water! Cardboard boxes with wire fronts are unsuitable containers and clean doesn’t just mean fresh newspaper on the cage bottom. Cages and containers must be free of feces build-up. Birds sold must be provided with an appropriate container for transport. Also, in the best interest of the health and welfare of baby birds and to promote responsible avian practices, "No un-weaned baby birds can be sold and / or delivered during the show"! Violators of these rules will not be tolerated and will be required to promptly pack and depart the show. All vendors are requested and encouraged to report violations to us immediately. Note: Un-weaned babies can be displayed at the show and deposits accepted for a future sale and delivery. Vendors with birds are required to fill out a PA Dept. of Ag form. This form must be handed in at setup... We will provide you with this form show morning.

Set-up begins Saturday morning at 5:00 AM. The parking area is on the same level as the gymnasium. Vendor entrance to the gym is an overhead garage type door and a side door. So the usual fellow vendor courtesy will apply... To avoid congestion and delay, after unloading (and before setting up your vendor space) you must move your vehicle to the adjacent parking lot. All entrance doors, except for main admission entrance, will close at 8:30AM. The show officially opens at 9:00AM and closes at 4:00PM. Exhibits must be disassembled and removed by 7:00 PM...
