A "Hands On-Fun Children's Activity Area" and a "Hands On-Information Area" are planned for the event and will be at your disposal for the duration of the event (9:00 AM until 4:00 PM).
The Hands On-Fun Children's Activity Area is for the entertainment of the up and coming young bird enthusiast. There will be activity sheets, coloring pages, and craft projects all with a pet bird theme. There is no extra charge for children to participate in this area. Castle Enterprises is pleased to provide this entertainment for the children.
The Hands On-Information Area is designed to provide help and guidance with the pet bird hobby. You are encouraged to visit this area and have your questions answered about the keeping, nutrition, caging, general health care or other questions or concerns you may have about pet birds. Several birds will be in this area and there will be limited handling opportunities. This Hands On-Information Area is being sponsored by the Chester County Bird Club (click here to learn more about CCBC).
A Benefit Auction is being held as the feature activity of the Bird Mart. The Auction benefits the ProPARROT Rescue Organization, a NON-PROFIT Organization maintained solely by volunteers and public donations. ProPARROT is based in Lancaster, PA and is dedicated to finding loving and nurturing homes for displaced companion birds. ProPARROT Rescue Organization has a active adoption program, also supports a foster and rehabilitation program, as well as a educational program.
The auction begins at 9:00AM. The auction will consist and be arranged primarily in a "Silent" auction format, which will run from 9:00AM until 2:00PM. Special items auctioned by an auctioneer begin with a preview period at 9:00AM and the "Live" bidding starting at 11:00AM. The auction is scheduled to conclude at 3:00PM at which time auction participants may begin to check out their purchases. Participants must claim their items by 5:00PM.
The majority of auction items will be avian related, but there will be something for everyone. Auction participants will receive an Auction Booklet describing items in the auction and all those who contributed to the auction.
