The organizers of two great shows, the very popular Greater Philadelphia Pet Expo and the pet extravaganza of the Long Island Pet Expo, have added a new show to their 2005 calendar, The Harrisburg Pet Expo. Castle Enterprises/PetBirdShows.com has, as with the Philadelphia Pet Expo, teamed up with the expo organizers to bring you "Parrotville" the avian feature attraction at the Harrisburg Pet Expo.
"Parrotville" is a complete Mini Bird Fair tucked within the all Pet Expo and just what you have come to expect from a Castle Enterprises production and affair. Bird Lovers will delight in this special area designed just for their interest. Planned activities include...
Throughout the Weekend: Listen or join in on chats happening all day with area bird enthusiasts at the "Birdie Show and Tell" area. Receive guidance and information on the care and keeping of birds, as well as see many different species on site in this interactive area. "The Wilson Parrot Foundation" will provide the opportunity to have your photo taken with many of their Parrots, you will have the chance to handle some of the most beautiful birds (a donation to the foundation is suggested for photos). The Wilson Parrot Foundation will also be conducting programs at their display several times a day. Children (and the young at heart) stop by the "Kids Activity Area" with free birdie crafts and educational project sheets. For your shopping needs and wants, you will find in the "Marketplace of Vendors" pet bird related goods and pet birds for purchase from the multiple different vendors.
Both Saturday & Sunday: Sit in at the "SPBE Affiliated Parrot Exhibitions" taking place throughout the two days (Note: a special "IPS Parrotlet Show" will be held Saturday). Or, better yet join in on the fun and enter you birdies in the competitions (novice/pet classes are available). These exhibitions will draw many area and out of state experts in the field on breeding/exhibiting hookbills. Exhibitions begin at 10:00AM daily and will continue throughout the day.
