1.

Exhibitors should check in at the Registration Table, acquire Bird Entry Form and Cage Tags.

2.

There is NO Entry Fee.

3.

Registration ends at 9:00 AM. No entries will be accepted after 9:00 AM without authorization of Castle Enterprises. All entries must be registered and benched before judging begins at 10:00AM.

4.

All entries must be the property of the exhibitor and must have been in the possession of the exhibitor for at least 60 days prior to the show.

5.

Only one cockatiel per cage can be entered.

6.

All entries must be caged so that there is no hazard to the health or safety of the bird or of other exhibits. An entry will be refused if Castle Enterprises feel it poses any danger. Marks or decorations are not allowed on or in cages. No names are permitted on or in exhibits until judging is over.

7.

Use of show boxes is encouraged, but not required by the Novice Exhibitor. If a standard show box/cage is not available, a Cockatiel may be exhibited in any clean, appropriately sized cage with a perch and water container. Extraneous feed containers and toys should be removed.

8.

Entries in Show Boxes must have a feed mixture covering the floor.

9.

The National Cockatiel Society rules prevail for the Cockatiels and exhibitors. Specifically:

a.

All Cockatiels Bred and Banded by an Advanced Exhibitor must be entered in the Advanced Sections. NOTE: An exhibitors Novice status is not affected even though he/she may be required by this rule to enter a bird in the Advanced Sections.

b.

Only Cockatiels with a Closed Traceable Band can be entered in the Advanced Sections. A closed traceable band must include a code indicating the Club, Society or Organization the band is recorded with.

c.

If the exhibitor has exhibited as advanced in another society (providing a novice section/division was available) then they must exhibit as advanced in this show.

d.

Only a bird with a closed traceable band with the current year imprinted may be entered in the "Young" classes.

e.

Any bird purchased from an NCS Judge in the current year may not be shown under that judge during that year.

10.

Fill in show tags and tie on to lower left hand corner of cage, and do not staple or bend. Complete entry form listing sections and classes in numerical order on the entry form.

11.

Turn the Entry Form original into the Show Secretary and give your birds to the Show Steward. Keep the copy of the entry form for yourself (this will be used to retrieve birds after the show).

12.

Castle Enterprises reserve the right to remove any bird showing any sign of illness.

13.

Handling or moving cages before judging is completed, except by the show stewards, is prohibited without authorization of Castle Enterprises.

14.

Entries may not be checked out until judging is completed and Castle Enterprises has declared the show closed.

15.

Spectators and exhibitors shall remain in specified viewing areas during judging and shall not distract the judge.

16.

Questions or problems arising on the floor should be referred to Castle Enterprises.

17.

If ownership of a bird is made evident to the judge, that bird will be disqualified and all awards forfeited.

18.

A Cockatiel entered in the incorrect class, in the Judges' opinion, will be transferred to the correct class if possible. If the correct class has been judged, the entry may be disqualified.

19.

Judge's decisions are final. A judge is not required to award a prize if the judge feels an entry does not qualify.

20.

Objections regarding the judging must be made in writing to Castle Enterprises at the conclusion of judging. A deposit of $10.00 must accompany the protest. If the grievance is considered justified, the deposit will be refunded.

21.

When removing your entries, please bring your copy of the entry form to the Steward so your birds may be checked out.

22.

While every effort will be made to ensure the safety of exhibits, Castle Enterprises, EQXPO LLC, and Fort Washington Expo Center shall not be held responsible for any damage or loss.

23.

Castle Enterprises reserves the right to amend these rules at any time and render any decisions necessary for the smooth running of the Show.
